in the last couple of weeks i have been into two tackle shops nearby. in the first one i asked for some korda flurocarbon in 10lb only to be told they dont do
it? they had 15lb on shelf. then he tried to sell me much better stuff, that i had tried before and was useless! (i bought 10lb from same shop before)??
in the next shop i asked for some mustad bait pins . instead of saying sorry sir we have none or we could get you some. i was more or less told i was a nutter for not wanting the two other types he had on his shelf. when i explained what the mustad ones were like (a hook with the bend cut off, with baitholder barbs on the shank) he said buy some hooks and snip em at the bend. i presume he did not understand the bait holder idea at all??
he was down right rude and in need of a sound thrashing! good job my 20 month son was with me to keep me to heel
maybe i just look dim or are all retail establishments becoming staffed as poor as the nearest dixons.
i have worked in the tackle trade and understand why they bang on about supporting your local shop or loose it. however more and more i use the internet.
