Stella Fella,
Could not see the image, checked out the Wychwood site for the 30 barbel and from past experience I would make sure that the handle collar fills the plastic holed area. I had a Leeda Pike net - nice big round one that came with a handle and the top fitted in the hole perfectly - big metal bush on the top. However I had a conoflex extending handle I wanted to use but there was no external collar did not think it was an issue if tightened sufficiently When I lifted my first fish in it the conoflex top split! Not sure if this would happen with your net but worth checking, Steve |

Thanks Paul but do you have the Rover D Barbel net? do you know if it fits that?

This is the net guys - the screwthread is inside a black plastic collar so the handle needs to fit into the black plastic neck |

powerstretch won't fit. About 2mm too big in diameter.
Still a great net though. I use a spare handle with this net and the powerstretch with a triangular net/spreader bock. |

the handle I use, btw, with the Rover D is a cheap-but-strong one I found on ebay. About a tenner I think and does the job. I will try to paste a link.

The item number for a cheap/strong handle I found on ebay that fits the rover D is: 320237040358

THanks Barbeldoctor - i will look but could i carry out adjustments to make powerstretch fit if its only 2mm??
Is it not difficult to carry/transport with it being telescopic - does it lock? what is it made from? cheers

If you could do a precision shave off of the brass thread attachment at the end all the way down I guess you could get it down to a diameter that would fit in
the net head - depends on how much work that would be for you.
The cheapo handle I got off ebay is glass fibre I think. Not a problem transporting. I travel by motorcycle for most trips and it gets wrapped up with my rod and banksticks using a titan rockhopper sling. When I'm walking from swim to swim I just slide it down into the shortest setting and get moving. If it breaks (which it shows no sign of doing) it won't cost a lot to replace at less than a tenner a throw... But when I travel by car and use a rod sling I use the powerstretch with a triangular net...there may be other powerstretch 'style' nets that do fit the rover D net, not sure. Maybe the conoflex or the drennan? atb |

What about using a quick change adapter?

Not sure they would be quite long enough, but that's a good idea. I'll see if they fit in the morning, I have one somewhere in the garage...

Whiskerton - they are the perfect size as it turns out. So, as long as you are confident using quick change adapters on net heads Stella Fella, this is a cheap
and easy way to make the powerstretch work with the Rover D.

Cheers Mike and Barbel - never used one - a quick search on google refers more to terminal end adapters (for floats etc etc) - do you have a name of the one
you have Barbel?? Are they like these??
If, as i presume, this thread would be outaisde the black collar of the net, do you think it would weaken the net?? thanks again !

Them's the ones, yes. Exactly the same as mine. I have used them on smaller nets with no problem; I have no idea whether anyone on here has experienced
issues using them with bigger nets/bigger fish. I don't see why they wouldn't work reliably.
But, anyway, the ones you have pictured there definitely fit. |

Stella,
you found that pic on my site. There is a contact e-mail address on my updates page. Basically I havent had a problem with handles. I've been using a 6ft semi-solid glass handle for a few years, which screwed into this landing net without a problem. Its a cheapie no big name make, so most handles should fit without a problem. Take the net with you to a shop if you need to buy a new handle and try it out. Personally I would avoid any sort of link. It only takes 10 seconds to screw on.
regards
Paul. |

Not sure of the make I'm afraid. I got them ages ago - I think from WMAC, but I can't be sure. I might have spare knocking around somewhere. If you
can't find any let me know. I'll try to dig one out and send it on.

Remembered! They are Pro-Logic quick release connectors. Available at Hinders and various other places if you google...
