I'm not having a go at anyone I'm just interested as to who decides what is and is not a valid river record. If i was to catch a river record, would i
be required to provided witnesses and have my scales tested by local trading standards ?

As for river records there is no requirement for proof other than a good photo, I am aware of a certain river record that was claimed after testing the scales
in thier garage long after the fish was put back and with no witnesses to verify a legitimate weight, seems wrong to me but perhaps its just sour
grapes.........best keep it to ourselves.
Today is the tommorrow - You are worried about yesterday - but all is well..
