Wahey! I'm the first one!
Went for a wander along the Elston stretch last week. (See photo in BFW Gallery). River was nice and low and was able to identify a number of promising looking swims. Roll on the 16th!! |

Had a look around Shaws Arms/London Rd Bridge on way home from work last night,Looking good,I'll have a proper look down to Church deeps over weekend.

Had a walk down to Church Deeps this morn,took a few fots,River quite low,nice colour.Did en't see any fish only a King Fisher.Photos sent to gallery.

Hi all,went last night and had the first one of the season,good luck to everybody,the river is spot on.Just watch out for those horrid eels!!!!.

Had 5 out between midnight and 7am. Biggest only 6.5 lb but who cares, another season starts on the Ribble and the blank avoided.

Went on elston for a few hours, couldent get a swim due to people in bivies but i went further up and managed a 8lb barbel and lost a good un at the net . Its nice to back .

Im not complaining. Fished 6pm - 10.30pm for my PB chub. Smashed my previous of 4-14 to land this beauty of 5-14.
Only had 1 bite all session... click on the pic for a larger view..

After a slow start ( 4 biteless hours ) managed to bag 4 barbs with the best 1 going 10.05lb and another at 9.10, didn't weigh the other 2, around 6 & 7.05lbs. Nice way to start off I hope it continues. Cheers Len |

I hope you lot spare a little thought for me while your out on the bank bagging up. I'm out shopping in Manchester with the misses all weekend. I'm gutted that I'm gonna miss the first weekend.

Broke my blank none all last year, caught 2 small ones at less than 4lbs but barbs all the same, (awsome)also 8 small chubb and several Eel,
Also fished hard for carp but nothing doing, Fishing buddy caught 8 roach 6 chubb all to bread. Got chatting to a young (under 30) lad who said he had heard PAA were going to buy up brockholes to church deeps town side bank? Hope that is just a story. Back on next week. |

First visit this year on Fri & boy was the river looking good plenty of water pushing through & weed to go with it
 had to use 4.5 oz to hold bottom, but got my rewards with 3 barbel, first coming at 7:50 at 6lb 10oz followed by 3lb 2oz & 5lb 6oz nice to see some good fish coming out, well done Andy you got there big time at long last with your Chub, & Len off to a flyer with a double!!Regards swanny

i had a decent sesh ystrdy , fished 3pm > 8.30pm , 6 barbs , 1st double of the new campaign @ 10lb 12 oz stu

Hi Guys,
First off.. hello again Swanny. Great to see you reporting that you are fishing again. And thanks for the comment regarding my new PB Chub! Was on last night for a hectic session indeed. Fished 18:30 - 01:00 and ended up with 5 barbel (biggest 6-06) and 4 chub (biggest 5 and a half) . Also lost 6 fish in this snaggy, rocky shallow peg that I visited for the first time last night. The barbel went mental between 22:15 and 00:00 with bites coming quicker than I could strike! I even found myself talking to my rods asking for them to give me a break! What's that all about??!! Anyone else notice this increase in activity around this time???? Was slow up until 22:15 then it all went mad!! Andy ps.. Admin.. please can you lock/delete my other Ribble River Report Thread. I created it one day when this thread temporarily disappeared, so my apologies.. Please can everyone report on this thread in future? |
