Does it work? Fishing on the Trent in Summer and wondered whether this would be any good? If not what Groundbait do you like when fishing for Barbel?

It did a few seasons ago mixed 2:1 with scalded pellet and fished as a method mix, use liquidised sweetcorn as a mixing/soaking liquid, it makes a great binder because of the starch content.
On the subject of binders, has anyone tried using wall-paper paste powder as a binder? |

Wallpaper paste usually contains fungicides,probably not good for fish.

There's a guy who not only fishes for barbel on my local Nene, but also carp. He swears by the stuff. It gets all the silver fish going which creates the comotion/feeding disturbances which pull in the carp. Must be worth a try ?

saw a bloke piling it it on the ouse,i know he had the chub going,he was a bit secretive,but christ was that stuff going in,also a known hotspot for barbs,lost a biggie there on fluorocarbon,stripped it off that evening.

Thanks guys, so this would be worth a try, but soes anyone actually use it for Barbel, I mean I was speaking to a few other people regarding this matter and they reckon that it's "The kiss of Death" on Rivers, what do you think of this?

Summer scenario on the Thames.
1.Add 12 big balls of vitalin plus added goodies to a suitable swim. 2.Fish two big baits over it.Sit on your hands. 3.Watch silver Roach Skimmers Chublets top over the swim for a few hours,rod tops will be continually knocking. 4. Rod tops will stop knocking, small fish will vanish. 5. Rod hoops over ,Barbel/Chub/Carp on. 6. Apply more vitalin and goodies repeat process. |
