I was using it every day for the week. Does braid make that rubbing type noise through the rod all the time., i'm a little frightend to use it now incase its causing damge to the rod. The rod i used it on was an old ivan marks lightning its a 11ft glass rod which i find ver good for barbel and it does have fuiji ceramic lined eyes.

For some reason the glass fibre rods seem to amplify the noise more than carbon fibre ones. But that can also depend on the rod you use and the type and make of braid. I use braid for the vast majority of my barbel fishing for anumber of years now, have thoroughly enjoyed using it. Where as my mate can't stand the stuff. I've been fishing for barbel for years and still ahven't had a double. Come close, within a ounce but still not got through that barrier yet.
