Posts: 206 (12/12/06 18:03) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Tags : None hi all, this season all my barbel fishing has been by using pellets or paste and i was just wondering what you guys would suggest out of the following .dynamite baits monster crab .dynamite baits spicy shrimp and prawn .nutrbaits trigga .CCMoores meteor i have used the ccmoores meteor for carp but have not used any of the others as of yet.

If they were on your list I'd have ticked them straight away. Says 14mm on the bag but they're more like 10mm. I use two on the hair. Great bait. ATB Mark.

Posts: 212 (12/12/06 18:18) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Hi Robbo, Well I would have to say Nash but then ya know why they sponcer me' I really have had some great results on Scopex Squid, and Monster Pursuit, both winter and summer well worth a ago mate, Others are fine but i think some of the nash bait is over looked for Barbel as most think just for Carp. Im on em all the time have been for years even before i was sponcered, good luck Regards Leanne Jaynes.

Have a look at The Source as well though. All the ones you mentioned would all do fine I suspect though.

Posts: 650 (12/12/06 23:37) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	I use Nash Monster Pursuit or Dynamite Source.... ....however, I also think that if you have found the fish and prepared the swim with the minimal disturbance, that Barbel will eat just about anything edible that falls into their "smell range." This is all the more apparent if the swim has been regularly topped up, but not fished. In this scenario the bigger fish will have had time to let their smaller bretherin feed un-caught, and will themselves have ventured to the dinner table to trough When your offerring lands on the dinner table, the bigger fish will get it first.... ....after all, that's how they got to be the biggest 'aint it?? But you don`t have long Dynamite baits have it covered Porky`s Paste mix 1 egg 1tbsp of db meaty marine pellet liquid db pellet groundbait (ground pellets) place egg into mixing bowl add liquid flavour mix with fork slowly adding powder until all the liquid is absorbed the paste must be sticky place in an airtight container over night try wrapping it around a cork ball on a hair to give neutral buoyancy or a 15mm boillie of the same flavour as the liquid. I feel as time might be running out for big smelly baits with the cold coming its time to get maggot tactics ready. Unless you are fishing big singles after dark. Simon

My prefered paste is trigga ice mixed with hi-nu-val with added green lipped muscle. Oh, and don't forget a bit of betaine. Also added are eggs, a few drops of black pepper oil and corn oil. And the Trigga ice liquid of course. The source though is good all year round bait. And pretty instant. Rob

If colour comes into play , fish are used to picking up pellets / hemp the same colour as the squid and octopus dynimite boillies . If you crush them between your hands they go into a crumbly powder .Great texture for bags , and the matching liquid is good .Trim hookbait into pellet shapes works well , breaking the skin releasing more attractors , and takeing on more glug. hatter

There one of the few boilies i have found which complement pva bagged pellets.

I do wonder if the fishier smelling boilies are catching us out as much as the fish, would fruit flavours work equally as well perhaps? cheers, simon
