River about 3 inches up with nice tinge of colour.
Some debris but ok out of the main push.
1 Barbel, 12lb 15oz.
A fabulous fish in A1 condition.
The fight was a dogged, bottom hugging classic, punctuated with fierce, short runs.
I took a couple of photos just before the release.(I'll upload these to the gallery later)
It swam away strongly.
Footnote: The fish came from the swim I'd fished on my very first river fishing trip some 42 years ago.
Now... after 3... everybody say aaahhhhh
