Think I'll have a wander down to the river tomorrow. Haven't seen it for 2 1/2 months. Few stretches I would like to check out. Hopefully if the weather warms up might be able to spot a few more fish next week.

River is looking good. Saw some good Chub. Managed to get them feeding fairly confidently on bread crust. One or two decent sized ones.
Conditions not easy for spotting barbs, it was a bit overcast and the river is not exactly clear. Still not sure where I'm going to spend the opening night, but wherever it is, I'll enjoy it, that's for sure. |

Hi Clarkie,
Yes photos were fine thanks. Will be fishing quite a bit this year again, but will not put any serious time in until the Autumn. Ended up having a good winter with hardly a blank. Hope you have a good season, may see you around if your night vision is good Patrick |

yea that should be fine 8.30 it is.Got so board yesterday had a trip to frant to see lots of bivvies and buzzers that were very silent.ihad a float rod 4lb line a bit of corn and couldnt stop catching them the bivvi boys were none to impressed and kept fiddling with there bits and bobs.I was glad to see that a few of the younger lads came to see what i was doing and took on board what i had to say and they gave the old way a go and scored within 15 mins good stuff.

spawning | ||

had a walk down the medway this arvo and was greeted by the wonderfull sight of the barbel in full spawn.met snakes down there and saw some nice big girls if anyone gose to have a look keep well low as not to disturb them.the water below them was black with chub after the eggs which brings to mind my eairlier post on feeding them off the areas of gravel where the barbel spawn anyone with a bit more info on the subject might want to comment.any hoo what a lovely sight to behold pure medway gold

like we all belive that NOT you up for going down this evening pete i think your idea about improving the gravel streches on the medway are bang on needs to be done to many of the gravel stretches have silted over or just been washed away my words are improve now reep divedends later

pete |
gravel | ||
|
yea i recon the gravel areas could do with a clean up there looking more like a building site than a spawning area not sure though as would it just wash away if we botherd replacing with fresh gravel for the next close season
