Hi ya all!, my first post on bfw, and i'm seeking advice, just about to move north from Bristol and will be based close to the Lugg, Teme, and Wye, if any of you fellow whisker enthusiasts can help with local clubs, syndicates info etc, it would be greatly appreciated.

The BAA have stretches on the Lugg and Teme aswell as the Avon and Severn. As for the Wye, Hereford District AA have plenty on there.

Moving North? That's not bl**dy North!
Come and fish around Manchester and Lancashire like a real man! Mind you I'm very envious - I could just about cope with the Lugg, Teme or Wye every day! Good luck - Kev |

Quote: No wonder youre smiling! It sounds as if you are going to Leominster or thereabouts. Try Woody's tackle in Hereford, He will give you a few decent pointers to get you started. After that you could try the river reports on here. Adrian.
The next meeting of the Shropshire region of the Barbel Society will be on the 25th of January. The main speaker will be Ade Kiddell, (One member of the succsessful team barbel). There will also be a short presentation from the A.C.A. For more details look here |

Happy New Year Derek,
I fish the Wye and the Teme and I have also fished the Lugg, (although only for trout),so I think I am qualified to comment on those rivers, I have also spoken many times with 'Woody' so I know that the advice he hands out with his bits and pieces is good and valid. But as I rarely venture south of Bedford I know next to nothing about your beloved h.a. or any other southern rivers so sadly I can't really help. Having said that however, the best tip I can give you is........'go fishing'.........I know this year has been difficult for you but you are running out of excuses. Now you are moving closer to the river I hope next year will see you on the banks a bit more often and hopefully we will all see you proudly holding that h.a. 16 pounder. Perhaps you could team up with that barbelgirl, She seems to know how to catch a few .. perhaps she could give you a few tackle tips. Adrian.

Well that's a first Derek, you found the caps lock key! Go on you have to post a catch result sometime, it would be good to know you have had one this century.
