Just wondered if in the winnter the Barbel will move from the Gravel runs to the deeper water of the Weir Or any Deeper Holes on the stretches were they live or do they just stay put.
Anyone got any points of veiw on this matter. Tight Lines and Happy Barbel Fishing. |

The colder the water (and the more rapidly it cools) the more barbel move into slower, deeper swims. But when they emerge to feed - eg during a mild, wet spell - they return to many of their Summertime swims, albeit often under cover of darkness. Steve |
