Posts: 886 (15/12/06 13:29) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Tags : None I was wondering how much the dust jacket on angling books gives you the insentive to investigate them further. For instance-------would an evocotive misty dawn rising above a picturesque river be a catalyst, or maybe somthing more dramatic such as an angler battleing with a large fish, or a nice shot of a fish, even perhaps somthing on the humorous side? Does the author have to be somone you've read or heard of? I know for me, living in my rose coloured world, where according to the rest of the family I've resided all my life, it's definately the misty dawn, but I was wondering about what influences others....Kindest..Jim.. ..

Posts: 614 (15/12/06 15:10) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	the few books i do have its the subject matter that draws my attention and has to be alligned with my angling interests in a simular fashion to my angling video collection as i've got about 2-300 video's & dvds of which there are far more general coarse titles than carp fishing ones (20) and (6)fly fishing & (3) sea all the rest are a broard mix of different species and styles (including a growing number of barbel dvds (much harder to find) i tend to use them as a reference library as i do my books and tend to go for books/dvds that show how things are done rather than anecdotal/biography ones in my small book collection i've got three barbel books so far (no carp books) plus some old books like "the complete angler" (a present) , "Fine angling for coarse fish" plus a couple of other older titles on different species and some general coarse fishing books a book on walking sticks (carved) one on fishery management and two thats destined for e-bay one a lure fishing book by john bailey and one on collectting old fashioned tackle which i got as a present because my brother saw my okuma centrepin and thought i liked ancient tackle ?? !!,i do rather tend to get books as presants rather than buy myself i guess its a easier option than buying tackle for me. steve I try to be funny... but sometimes I merely look it http://www.angelfire.com/sd2/chavender/

One man's poison is another mans passion! (or maybe that's only if you spell it wrong!) Cheers Les
