air temps were minus 4 to 6 dg,

as regards other baits,doesnt take much to work out what i ment.nowerdays it seem to be a rule of thumb,to either use a pellit or boilie,and if you dont get a bite there not feeding.

A good breakdown time,they seem to "fizz" on the bottom,leaking flavour ect.

I have seen people have them on Slugs but i dont fancy collecting them and hooking them.
