I tried using frost and flood to flavour my meat over the winter as recommended on the bottle...fished several sessions over several swims. Not a sniff. Went back to elipses (in a semi flood conditions) and caught straight away. Maybe chance, maybe not.

One bottle of JB flavour cost the same as 5kgs of elipses. I personally cannot afford the expense.

Hello Nigel,

I have used John Baker’s flavours and base mixes for over 10 years. In my opinion, they are amongst the best you will find commercially available.
When I 1st fished on the Gt Ouse, I used meat and other boilies, and caught 8 fish in 2 seasons. The next season, John had just released his Search 4 flavour and the Original Barbel base mix. I caught 3 the fish day I used it, and caught consistently on it for the next 3 or 4 seasons, including several repeat captures. I...

I've had some success with his Savoury Spice mix, could depend on what you add to it, though.
I generally add salmon oil to most of my mixes and Thai fish sauce instead of salt. As my username suggests; shrimp cake has become a regular ingredient.
I also use nutrabaits and solar base mixes, but have been developing my own formula for a couple of seasons. Trying it out on the Teme next week, weather/temperatures permitting.
Good luck and have fun with it.
People often spend ages messing around with additives/flavour levels in their base mixes, so i doubt anyone will be willing to give away their hard work (and money to mess about with the baits!) so freely.

Sorry to make u struggle for good answers, but I spent £52 on John Baker's products, caught stuff all. Spent £2 on bakers dog biscuits caught carp and barbel. Personally I'd invest in something else. Granted there will anglers who do well on it, but I think some who do bait heavily. There are plenty of baits out there with quicker and cheaper results.
Hope you find what you are looking for.
