Therefore I bought a couple of pairs of the green army gore tex boot liner things and I just put a pair of them on when I get in the bag at night. I still have a two pais of the original ones from around 14 years ago and they have only recently given up the ghost. The newer ones are much better though - a much better fit and more elastic.

Yep, they're the ones I use and found them v.good. You need to check size - they're worn over your normal/thick socks.

I am after a pair of good, waterproof socks and i remember someone saying that the Gore-tex ones were pretty good.

Just a couple of questions, is there a particular model that i should be going for as there seem to be a few different types.
