I had my box violated recently when someone posted some personal messages of mine. After making enquiries I discovered that a forum member had copied and pasted my messages and sent them via email to another poster who in turn claimed to have "hacked" into members accounts.

Should I give any credence to alledged hacking of Yuko pm sysytem on BFw and other Yuko sites, and the hackers' ability to read and disseminate your Pm's, as posted by a regular BFw poster on another, not public-facing forum. His suggestion to me to empty my inbox has been implemented, as that was where I put all my private communication.......

Hi men ,
Sorry for late reply . Got the laptop sorted , and quicker by downloading kaspersky , which cleaned up , and has continued to do so. Free at the mo then 25 quid a year , or there abouts . Only put that one on as the it department at work now use it to find stuff . Not up on pc,s , and just did what they said . De fraged , which took hours ,, and seems good now . Not a good time for me pj what with the reel...

Hi men ,
I have a prob that has happened the last few days . On booting up this laptop I have been getting a note saying scan file at system startup, potential errors in the system registry were found , then it shows numbers/ letters / words .

If you look under the 'More' link next to a persons name, you can then select 'Blocking' and from this you can select which option you wish to take.

If you want to update your profile click on your username in the "navigation" bar and click on whichever "edit" link you want to change. Remember that there are "viewing permissions" to be set, since what you yourself see may not be seen by others

I seem to have had a post deleted from the Medway thread. Somewhere from Sane's post on the 14th, to KevW post refering to me on the same day. I was not asked or gave permission for this post of mine to be deleted.
Is there some kind of reasonable explanation for this or do I need to call in senior people/ solicitors /papers/ nasty tech guys, / or, heavens forbid, the Barbel Police/ start a free xpression Barbel site as a counterpoint. ??

Will look into it , did 3 hours , saved files to doc , but still could not get them on itunes , managed one vidio from youtube , embrace music video , thought i had cracked it , then the next 3 went in my docs as mp4, but wont go on itunes either . I am usless at this stuff , but ipod is a nice piece of kit that will keep me sane at work , but drive me mad at home . Going to bed...

Hi men ,
Got a ipod for xmas . Downloaded dvdencrypter , and videora ipod nano converter . This was to put my fishing dvds on it for watching at work .Is this the best way? , have not been sucsessful yet , as the video converter got to 99% then stopped , not loading it ti i-tunes . I am trying again with a diffrent dvd , in case the last one was scratched . Not up with this lark , but can normaly muddle through . Anyone out there tried it?

If you did want Firefox you simply download (it's free, but that doesn't mean it's inferior in any way) and install it, and you can import settings from IE if you wish during the install but I wouldn't. When you run Firefox it will ask you if you want it to be your default browser and you'd say yes. If it asks whether you want to check it is the default whenever you run it you say yes.

I had cleared temporary internet files just before I came on to BFW and low and behold I am all back to normal.
