im looking for a new reel for this season,was wondering if you could suggest a few to have a look at.....

shimano 3500 (old model)

shimano 3500b

daiwa ss 2600

shimano 5010

if you think there may be others worth a look,let me know

new or second hand.

btw it will be used on a 1 3/4 lb rod.

			<description><![CDATA[ iv been useing a okuma access a130 for 7-8 years now iv had barbel to 10 pounds and chub 5 pounds with it combined with a shimano barbel hyperloop rod its
still going strong and waiting for rivers to open it hold 140 yrds of 10 pound line beleive me id use nothing else mate theres no need to compleacate things

			<description><![CDATA[ Expensive and replaced by newer version but very good after 4 plus years - one could argue at that price it should be. Looked at a number of reels at the time
of buying and this one won in my eyes.

are you fishing 2 rods ?

i personally wouldnt touch the &#39;b&#39; series of silver baitrunners with a barge pole , heard to many  bad stories about clutches and rotors jamming etc

i use a 6000 gte baitrunner , very reliable

would a front drag not be a better option ?

			<description><![CDATA[ hey rookie barbler my advise would be to get yourself a shimano gte c. or try and find a gte b last years model maybe you would pick one up a bit cheaper.

last season was my first spending all my time barbel fishing and i brought myself a pair of MAP 5000 baitrunners, the cost me £80 for the pair.

and after about 12 sessions i started getting trouble with the clutch slipping and the bait runner jamming.... not good.... this happend to both. so i brought
