seriously though the top of the 1st 2 bars were trimmed off

I agree, I was on Harefield at the time,...But that was then and this is now,..Lots of better materiels available now,...You`re right about quicksilver though,...frightening stuff in retrospect,...it was developed as Bow-string.

Where different brands of line vary is in the denier of the fibres used and the braiding process. Some also have other fibres added to provide colour, weight, or abrasion resistance - or a combination of these.
