Not that I mind you filling in those swines but I can't help thinking that they were left wondering why they got beaten up..
I mean, one minute they were happily fishing away as they would do in their own country 'trying to catch their dinner', then the next minute they are taking a pasting off two angry blokes.

My concern is that these people did not...

It is frustrating to learn about the illegal activity at the Grangetown stretch, though not at all suprising!

It angers me not to hear of any NRA bailif activity activity also!
If the law is being broken so regularly and it is clearly common knowledge, then why is nothing being done??
I have said it before, it would only take a few convictions and hefty fines for the word to spread through the Chub-munching community for these people to think twice about what they are...

looking forward to the new season but the taff in grangetown has been fished throughout the close season by our eastern european guests and they have been killing everything they catch.

Less than 1 month to go till we can hit our rivers again, I'm having withdrawal symptoms that still waters are just not satisfying!

Can't wait to get the new waders on and get in the Taf., Can't wait to get stuck into some big shoals of hungry Borris up the Wye either!

Has anyone got any closed season stories to share to get this thread off to a good start?

spotted a couple of muppets coarse fishing 100 yards below radyr weir, rang the EA, no idea if they would have responded or not.

4 small barbel and a couple of good chevins 2 day at gabalfa. Hope everything is going fine since me and the boys been keeping an eye out

Hi all,although I rarely comment I do read a lot of the posts on here.This is problem that is never going to go away unfortunatly.But from what I have read for the first time there does appear to be a ray of hope for the future.Lets hope you Taff regulars get together and by the start of the new season you have a plan of action to tackle the idiots who frequent the Taff.It is after all YOUR river.I say this because in my view the river belongs to all those who use it and never those who abuse...

edd7, what we're concerned with is the GAC stretch from the motorway bridge down to the castle bridge, take into account that all bailiffing for the club is voluntry so our thanks go out to all who are prepared to bailiff the Taff, i'm sure as pointed out in one thread the club has a few noddy's that are not wanted but i think alot of the problems on the Taff are poachers, we had a report last week of 7 noddy's spinning for salmon below radyr weir, the EA were contacted and...

It looks like the Taff will be better looked after and bailiffed better than it ever has been and be a safer happyer place to fish in the future.

will this be from the top limit ( foot bridge ) right the way down the river ?.

If you become a member of GAC we are always looking for Bailiffs for the Taff (they seem to be the hardest to get hold of and keep!) What we can't condone is people taking the law into there own hands, the club work closely with the EA and everything has to be done above board so to speak. I can fully understand you wan't to look after the rivers you fish but the Club have to and will always stay within the law.

Im not with the G.A but im going to join this season. 1 thing i have been doing is sorting out the muppets who like to wreck my local river Ely. Ther is 10 people in our little fishing club which is free to join. We are willing to help out on the Taff if the G.A want it , all they have to do is get in touch and we will be ther. Anybody who cant get the E.A OR G.A contact us .
