glad you do the walks to look for the barbel,the hardest part is if you have walked a long way to find them,then go back to get your tackle and do it all again.

for what its worth here is a list of the baits i will be using.

sweetcorn-boilies-maggots/casters-and thats it.

If you want a particle type mix then you cannot go wrong with pidgeon feed, it contains pulses and seeds such as maples,corn,maize etc. I used to soak over night in a cool box, one of the big plastic ones, just cover the particles with boiling water and leave overnite and they will be ready for use. Maybe correct but dont you think pellets soak up lots of water and take even longer to break down.

There's quite a lot of these feeds about and I heard that one or two might be harmful to the fish, so which ones are effective and which are to be avoided???
