Probably a question that's been asked before but was going bog-eyed looking through the archives. To cut a long one short, i live in Plymouth and although i try to do a bit of Barbel fishing throughout the year, i don't go often enough really to know anyone who could give me some genuine advice (as opposed to sales pitch) on what would be the best chair for Barbelling. It wouldn't have to be reclining but obviously would need adjustable legs, but most of all i'd like it to be as... ]]>

			<description><![CDATA[ I went to Wilkinsons, and bought a bog standard fold up picknic type chair with a green steel frame for £5.00, the frame has been chopped,and modified,  I replaced the fabric with the cover from my now defunct Chub Rover, it is fully adjustable, long / short legs, has several rod rest / tackle box/ rucksack clip / brolly  mods, that just are not available on commercial chairs, high back,arms which were replaced with sturdy wood in stead of polythene,  does not recline, but the who does when... ]]></description>

I'm 6'3&quot; (ish) and 14 stones, and I fish rivers only. I want to sit as low as possible, with the seat fabric OFF the ground. I prefer individual rear legs but a single bent tube front one (sinks in less and is useful to put your foot on when getting up)<br>

I have just realised, you have got the stealth while mine is the roamer, being a newer model I think you will find that yours has already got some of the mod's incorporated into it, i.e. the angle of the back and the longer legs.<br> ]]></description>

I tried that, all it does is tilt the seat forward which is worse, everything I suggested above are imo modifications to turn a chair which is designed for sitting in a semi recumbent position at the side of a lake on flat ground while waiting for a CARP to hook its self into a useable lightweight chair for fishing from steep riverbanks for... ]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[ I have got one of those Terry Hern JRC things and as it comes it is useless........but..........if you bend the backrest frame so that it does not lie back so far and then make some longer sliding front legs (I used an old brolley pole), then replace the bolts which hold the back legs on with some quick release pins so you can take them off in a few seconds for steep banks, then buy a shoulder strap and a bungie elastic to hold it together while its folded, then you have got imo the finest,... ]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[ I had a problem with my Nomad after someone heavier than me sat in it! The back was bent back so I was reclining more than I wanted to be! <br>

I took it back to Premier Angling in Chippenham who replaced it for me with the last one they had. They also mentioned that it has been discontinued. <br>
<br>
It's a great little chair IMO, not the comfyest but certainly the lightest.<br>

			<description><![CDATA[ I'm 6 foot tall and 19 stone, have been flopping down in my Nash Nomad for over a year and it hasn't bent yet!!! Had a Wychwood superlight before, really, really lightweight chair at about 3 kilos but the bottom runner bent within the first month and the back snapped in half after about 9 months, i'm sure it would be great if you are not a fatty though.................<div class='signature'>Rgds, Ian.<br>
