1. Don't microwave the bait bombs if using elips or halibut pellets, I tried that last year and they completely broke down into a pile, frying in the fish oils, stunk the house out for a week, she wasn't happy!!!

2. Usually up walking (aka getting dragged round the fields) by Chester our Japanese Akita dog at 5.30 in the morning most weekdays.

Often use paste in summer - a bit different to the harder ones that are usually used. Use it as paste wraps - so if it gets 'eroded' by smaller fish then at least there's a bait for the taking. Rather use a hardish core of bait rather than say a cork ball.
A group of small fish around a bait can be quite an attraction - I've watched minnows around my bait get pushed out by a visiting boris.

I had a Gardner bait bomb from the BFW shop. I've spent 10 minutes looking but can't see them. Perhaps you drop Claire a message asking if she has any or could get you one. I think they are available in a couple of sizes too.

Just add some hot water to pellets and let stand for about 15 mins,the line passes thro the slot on the bomb and your ledger fits inside the hole at the top bomb and your ready to cast.
