Just come back from a short trip on the Dove.
As i walked downstream ,there was an angler on the far side who i'd spoken to on opening day,he did the honours with the photo shoot for a good Barbel i'd caught.Anyway,it turned out that he had never caught a Barbel,this was his second season after them & had had no joy.

I gave him a few pointers on rigs,baits & how i go about things & wished him luck.

Barbel Fishing

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone on here might be able to lend some information. I am writing from ireland and am looking to organise a trip to the UK within the next few weeks to fish for barbel. As I have no previous knowledge of fishing for the species, or have never fished in the UK before I was wondering if anyone would have a good contact for a guide who I could hire for my first trip.

Any information would be appreciated.

hi there can anyone recommend a cool box thats airtight with rubber seals.... looking for a fairly largish one for when i go away for or week or so... not really looking for one of those electric ones just a decent, spacey, reliable, durable, COOL box?

so im not looking for much then!

i'll be refilling it with ice packs, but just so it keeps nice n fresh. (bacon sausages etc for breakfasts!)

Fishing trousers

Strange topic I know but I feel I must share some info on these trousers which are the business.
They're called 'crag hoppers solar dry' and they are a brilliant product.Got mine from White and Bishop.Dull green in colour and very light and comfy with 6 pockets-They dry in a very short period -ideal when releasing fish etc.
Got mine in a sale for £15!!!!!...

Barbel fisheries on the Wye

Hello all,
could anybody help and possibly give me any info on good fisheries that are day ticket waters on the Wye ?Myself and 3 angling friends will be venturing up to the Wye for one week on 2nd July and we are looking for some good Barbel fishing.
We will be staying approx 5 miles from Ross on Wye and dont mind travelling a bit, please send me a message to my e z in box if you can help.
