I know that to most it has probably become an instinctive act and not easy to describe, but there are quite a few newcomers to the sport, that think pure bullying is the order of the day.
What is the difference between that and skill?.
So what goes through everyone's mind when they hook that fish?.

In fact after 3 sessions I have only ever landed 1 barbel on them, and that was from a stretch where me mate had 10 from 40 yds above on live maggots.
Chub seem to absolutely love em, as do tench, carp and not forgetting our beloved Eels. But what about Barbel ??

So, the question is :: Has anyone done any good on dead maggots ??

After getting a very wet foot yesterday a close examination revealed an area of rubber had perished and there was a 1.5 cm split.

They only lasted 2 seasons but were cheap.

Any top tips for replacements?
