			<description><![CDATA[ Every used a huge boilie or lump of meat (around a sixth to a quarter of a tin) for barbel?<br>
I'm still surprised how effective this can be, even the smaller Boris have a go and are caught.<br>
Small baits also have their uses, but sometimes the large bait trick seems to work when nothing much else does.<br>
Any experiences?<br>

			<description><![CDATA[ It often amazes me how diffrent prices can vary - some items you buy appear reasonable value for money, others not so good.<br>

A recent example has been the *izmo type links, buy them from a well known carp supplier and you pay around £3.00 for ten, buy them from a sea tackle manufacturer they come in at half the price for a similar item. Another larger link costs around £1.20 for 3, buy them from the sea tackle supplier £1.45 for 10.<br>

Speed indicators that can be purchased to be used with fishfinders seem to have to be permanently mounted, in order to get good results.<br>

I have heard of an indicator made by Luhr-Jensen that is made of a ball on the end of a line that hangs in the water, beside your boat, that provides movement on an analog &quot;gauge&quot; that is clamped to the side rail.<br>

			<description><![CDATA[ I bought a load of pellets last year and didn't get out as much as I'd have liked (I'm putting this right this season!). I've bought smaller amounts of fresh bait for this season so have last seasons still in the garage (do pellets go off?).<br>

I decided I was going to make a new bait so I put Elips, Hibetain, CSL and Hemp pellets in the food mixer and reduced them all to dust. I then added some of the dust to a couple of beaten eggs and made some round baits/boilies.<br>

Does anyone know whether Monster Crab flavour boilies are any good for barbel? I fished with them this morning and didn't get a touch. In fact I found a fish lying under some weed, plopped a couple of boilies round him (but didn't cast)and he didn't seem to know they were there. Even the chub totally ignored them. Switching to my normal bait got an instance response. <br>
