Small baits also have their uses, but sometimes the large bait trick seems to work when nothing much else does.

A recent example has been the *izmo type links, buy them from a well known carp supplier and you pay around £3.00 for ten, buy them from a sea tackle manufacturer they come in at half the price for a similar item. Another larger link costs around £1.20 for 3, buy them from the sea tackle supplier £1.45 for 10.

The swims can now be accessed by going to 'articles' then 'swim analysis' or by going to the message board root menu.

The past season I fished a number of later evenings and caught fish, but only at the same level of day fishing.

Speed indicators that can be purchased to be used with fishfinders seem to have to be permanently mounted, in order to get good results.

I have heard of an indicator made by Luhr-Jensen that is made of a ball on the end of a line that hangs in the water, beside your boat, that provides movement on an analog "gauge" that is clamped to the side rail.

Does anyone know whether Monster Crab flavour boilies are any good for barbel? I fished with them this morning and didn't get a touch. In fact I found a fish lying under some weed, plopped a couple of boilies round him (but didn't cast)and he didn't seem to know they were there. Even the chub totally ignored them. Switching to my normal bait got an instance response.

Anyone else tried them?
