I have a woollen knit cap that can be pulled down over the ear facing the wind if needed....and I have to admit, also one of those cowboy looking ones in green. (not worn in company, but it does keep the crowds away)The only excuse I can offer is that it was only 5.00.

For direct hooking do you use anything under the meat on the bend of the hook. I know people use stops, bits of rubber, a maggot to retain the meat. I use a bit of grass stalk or better still spaghetti - this the uncooked strips broken into convenient lengths. For harder meats I'll not use anything and probably go to hairing anyway.

If anyone who will be presant at the loddon fish-in, would like 5kg of mainline grange for free.

Their is nothing wrong with it, I'm just having a clear out and it is surplus to requirments.
I would rather someone made good use of it, instead of it just sitting in the back of a dark cupboard!

It is a very good base mix for barbel and just about anything else that swims.
