Anyone on here sampling music ? . How difficult is it , and what equipment do you need ?. Just for personal enjoyment , mucking around . If I need to spend money , then I wont bother .

Untold cheating going on the " album " thread . You are stuck on a bloody island , and you only have 1 single . AND I MEAN 1 . You must have bought it , not an album track , a single . So it must be something you can play over , and over again . Another one of my ideas at work when we got bored !!!!!.

Hi men ,

Following on from the Album of the year / gig of the year threads . At work tonight I made the lads pick their fav album of all time on their ipods , and we put them on to play all through . I was last to go , and my fav album , from my fav ever band Embrace filled the air . Good Will Out . A couple of the younger pups had not herd it all the way through , and asked me to play it again . So there we go , I will start it off with -

Hi all,
Following on from the excellent Album Of The Year Thread, what has been your Gig (s) of the year ?

My top 3 are as follows :- The Cult at The Albert Hall, playing the whole of the Love album live. Took me back to my 'Goth Days'.
U2 :- Millenium Stadium, supported by the excellent Glasvegas, Bono may be a twerp, but U2 are still the daddys !

newspaper delivery charges - what do you pay?

my parents live in a mid sized village - the local newsagent (part of a 'group') has just increased delivery charges to £4.25/week

that to me is way OTT

how much do the delivery boys/girls get of that?

the shop do not have to employ any more staff to do the sorting of 'rounds' as they already open at 5am because this is a mining area and they need to be open early to pick up early 'shift' business

I'm fast losing touch with new music and thought it would be good to get some recommendations from folk.

So which album, released this year, has never left your ~~turnatable~~ iPod, whatever...

Mine is My Maudlin Career by Camera Obscura. Outstanding follow up to the difficult-to-follow-up "Let's Get Out Of This Country".
Beautiful melodies, memorable lyrics and stunning string arrangements. Can't play it enough....

Loddon brewery

High all, I'm in the throws of getting a group together for a tour/taster/gift buying session at Loddon brewery next thursday. They currently have a few little gift packs (a few bottles and engraved pint glasses etc), you can also have a good taster and perhaps order a barrel or polypin for christmas, the smallest they do is 9 pints so no waste at all considering they come with a 2 day homelife.
Let me know if you fancy coming folks.

Anyone got any info on good apps for the iPhone or iPod touch? Downloaded a few really good ones recently. Two of the best are Ragdoll Blast and Finger Physics! Both good little puzzle games with real physics as the basis.

Anyone thinking of buying any NAD product be warned

Bought a NAD CD in august to replace my 20 year old Technics.3 weeks ago it stopped working,so was very peed off.
Checked the warrenty it said (in all cases wherever bought) send to a repairers in Dorking Did this (cost 22 quid) as wasent happy googled NAD
problems to find thousands of Nad problems,but worse still,complaints about the Dorking repairers returning unfixed items.

Because of this phoned the shop...

A work colleague was stopped at the weekend by the police as his vehicle came up' uninsured' on the Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) system. Fortunately he was able to convince them that it was, and he was allowed to go with a request to produce documents at his local station. Apparently they were very serious about seizing the car ,there and then, despite being with wife and young child. At the station he asked for another check - still negative. I remember the old days when i lived at home when my old fella used to give me £3.30 to got to the front door and pay the pools man many moons ago.do any of you still do them ?.

I was on our local bus today coming home and in the free METRO newspaper i saw you can do them online at footballpools.com ,and also instead of the pools you can do super 6 premier 10,i was thinking of giving it a go...
