Hi people
Whilst reading through a weekly carp magazine, i quite regularly see fish getting caught from Rainbow lake in France, not that surprising really, but what does
surprise me is the heavy leads they always seem to use, 10-12oz "Rainbow special leads" seems to be the norm, does anyone know why they use such
heavy leads?? I understand they are normally fishing at range and quite possibly near snags, but with that size lead you could be mistaken fishing the Severn...

seems as if people have stopped seriously fishing for them because the cormarants have eaten them all. Well my experience is that they are certainly there but
they are not being caught. With so many river anglers targeting barbel with pellets and boilies they could be sat on a shoal of big roach and never catch one.

It is for a friend who wants to have a go plugging for pike on the middle/upper Thames. The rod needs to have tip action and be around 10ft in length. The
budget will be no more than £100. PM me if you like.

There is a fair bit of choice out there, which is confusing to a none predator fisherman like myself.
