Ribble thread

Despite warnings from Bob it appears some of wanted to carry on int he same vein. Ribble thread moved to mods area temporarily.

Threatening behaviour absolutely unacceptable, and lots of the posts could be construed as being Slander. Some members may find they are no longer such in the morning.

Hopefully the thread can be reinstated with offending posts removed.

Hi all

I live in Wolvercote and fish the Thames around Oxford, and I'm looking for a beard or two! I know of a couple of places, (thanks Backstream Dweller same again this friday?) but I would especially like to get one out of the Seacourt Stream - I've heard of a couple of doubles coming from there but I've never come across ANY let alone a lump....
Any info would be much appreciated, as to baits/tackle/areas to try. I was thinking of going in with...

River Ise fishing

After 2 years of searching and hard fishing, I have finally just caught my first Ise (Northants) barbel at 8lb 4oz. Apparently according to the EA it was stocked a few years back with small barbel, although I am not sure how many in total. The river runs into the Nene at Wellingborough and is mostly famous for it's roach, chub and is the only river in Northants with Grayling in.(Thats another story ).

why is it only me who seems to be looking for info about catches on this great river.
yet again i am hearing loadsa things about barbel n decent chub coming out all over the greater manchster area
is this info even more hidden than other river fishers(lol)

Can anyone help me with who owns the fishing on the left bank downstream of Harvington weir.
I am a member of great Linford lakes which owns the opposite bank but am intrested in obtaining a ticket for the opposite bank below the weir as the bank is more accesable. I would also appreciate any info re this stretch. PM if you like.

i will be staying in chepstow for 3 nights in july and would like to try fishing on the wye, day ticket stretches, preferably for barbel, any advice would be apprieciated.i have a car so travelling should not pose a problem.

Fished Swale yesterday, river looking good. While fishing river fell about a foot,although i didn't catch the river was in good shape. My mate on the next peg had a good 6lb Barbel. Does anyone have a contact number for the Sheephills syndicate, or any information would be helpfull about the syndicate.

Just back from my Opening weeks fishing on the Teme what a fantastic week that was my best ever 14 Barbel,12 Chub,1 river Carp, no end of Trout & Grayling & some big Dace.

Hi all, well i new to the Barbel world, as i normaly fish for Pike and Trout, i have just joined the BAA and am heading for the Teme (Broadwas) on tuesday for my first Barbel session, so if any one is willing to pass on a tip or two it would be a great help, am going with some Halipellets with crushed pellet and hemp. Any help out there please .
