Broken Rod Tip

Hi folks One of those days out today... lost a certain PB pike, ran out of bait, and finally snapped 3ins of the tip of my Wychwood Barbel rod. Not a happy chappy. Just wondered if there is anything I can do - cutting the tip back to the next ring will I think make it far too stiff. If anyone has any bright ideas please let me know. Or if anyone has a spare top section of a Wychwood 1.75lb Barbel Extremis Rod then please let me know. Cheers Chris

I recall someone a short while back mentioning that Nick Giles is having some more copies pressed up. I really want to get hold of a copy but the prices it fetches on Ebay these days are rather steep to say the least. Anyone know what's happening with these re-issues(second print or whatever they're called), are they going to be available?

did anyone else see this programme 6pm sunday BBC1 LIFE (FISH) with David Attenborough some amazing footage of
I think he said was kenyon barbel and hippos
the barbel actually follow the hippos and eat their poo and i mean a shoal of barbel 15 -20 feeding avidly as its coming out
not only this they actually feed on the hippos skin sucking off all the debri etc like a hoover

Barbel fishing near Whitstable?

Hi,

My sister currently lives in Kingsclere, which is nice and handy for (amongst others) Aldermaston Mill on the Kennet when I go and visit.

However, the silly girl is moving to Whitstable, Kent later this month.

Is there any decent barbel fishing in that area, preferably on a day ticket?

As above blank or not, I had a scare this week that led to a NHS white taxi van with flashing lights and sirens, and 2 nights strapped to noisy beeping machines and a chest and back like Humpt Dumpty with 6" nails in his bum sitting on my chest.
Results coming back slowly looking gud ECG's.Bloods etc.. all showing negative of heart trouble, just a few more to bloods to come back and a tread mill session connected up to bleepers again still to come.

Hi all,

new to the forum and looking for some advice on the Daiwa Whisker 2.25lb. Just starting to get my winter kit sorted for the Wye. Last year had a few good days on the NAA waters but my feeder rod is only a medium feeder and struggled with any extra water on.

Will the Daiwa do the job for me, I'm a big fan of Daiwa and have total confidence in their rods but no shop stocks close enough to try one out. Possibly may look at a Prodigy and can stretch to an...

Hi all, i have just purchased one of these off of ebay and was wondering if they are any good for heavy flood/lead fishing.I am told that although these types of reels are small in size,they are just as durable and powerfull as a specialist flood reel due to their gearing etc.Advice would be much appreciated
