			<description><![CDATA[ Nothing to do with barbel, but I spent a few enjoyable hours walking the banks of this delightful little stream on Good Friday, and saw a group of 40-50 brook lamprey's spawning in this shallows. That was until  a prat walking his dog thought it would be fun for the beast to go chase them. It emerged from the 6&quot; deep water with several fish in its mouth. I'm afraid he got a bit of verbal abuse. <br>
Its the first time that I have seen a lamprey since they ( the larger sea lampreys)... ]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[ Just had a cracking week on the river.Last Tues had 1 barbel @7lb 5oz +2 chub mid 3s. Wed had 6 barbel biggest 9lb 3oz (also new personal best). Thurs 2 barbel another PB of 9lb 4oz<br>
also had numerous chub to 4lb 9oz. Came back to earth on sunday with a blank though. ]]></description>

After years of stillwater course and trout fishing i have really got into river fishing.The Ribble is my nearest decent river as i live about 20 miles away.I have caught plenty of chub but i can't seem to catch a Barbel.It is becoming a bit of an obsession with me.I am not a member of any club with water on the Ribble so i have been fishing day ticket stretches [ Ribchester,Bonzi nursery and Tickled Trout] to know avail. However a visit to Wheathamsted was useful. Upstream of the Bull was a guy feeder fishing.
