I've been spring-cleaning in preparation for the new season - cleaning tackle, making up hook-lengths, etc. I've also put new line on my reels. Last year I used Maxima Chameleon (10lb). This season I'm trying Berkley Big Game (10lb clear).

I had some problems joining the two lines together and thought I'd share my experiences.

I've upgraded some of my tackle like my brolly and a couple of rods to Grey's.

Forgot some things like my landing net poles and nets but been out this weekend and acquired a few replacements, should be well sorted for the new season.

Changing insurance companies though they were pathetically slow and incompetent and have lodged formal complaints.

I'm guessing hemp that hasn't been pre-soaked should be split within 10 mins at pressure.

Also , interested to hear whether larger/mixed particles (maize / partiblend) can be cooked without presoaking.

It has been put to me that there is a possibility of the formation of a small syndicate to fish the river at Ringstead.
