			<description><![CDATA[ It appears to be the trend as the colder weather fronts move in that barbel tend to be caught on smaller baits, i.e.: 6mm pellets or small boillies.<br>
Do you think this simply down to they don't need as much to sustain them at this time of the year or they have been hammered all season and get wary of the normal sized baits presented to them?<br>
Logic would dictate that after swimming in faster flowing flood waters for a few days, they would need to feed again to get there energy levels... ]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[ I posted recently about my bad experiences with the latest spools of Trilene XL mono which had been my favourite hooklength mono.<br>
I have therefore been trying Shimano Antares Silk Shock mono - first impressions after a number of sessions and a number of fish are superb.<br>
I'm using the 12lb BS (5.35 kg) which is thin at 0.220mm, very supple and limp, clear, very smooth and is very, very strong. I've had fish from rocky, snag strewn swims and had no problems with abrasion and I've twice... ]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[ Tried a `new` paste out last night. 1/3 ground halibuts, 1/3 ground trout pellets and 1/3 meat. This was mixed together with an egg and bunged in the fridge overnight. The resulting paste felt good and had a decent breakdown time when tested in a glass of water. However, it seemed a bit soft when I took it to the river. I wasn`t confident that it was staying on the hook (wrapped it round a hook and hair rigged 15mm boilie).<br>
